Pavlovich’s “work tours” directly benefit residents
Hermosillo newspaper El Imparcial reported that Sonora Governor Claudia Pavlovich met with Sonora residents this week as she assisted in a neighborhood project in Hermosillo and went on a “work tour” of the Sonoran Sierra region.
Hermosillo
On Thursday, Pavlovich was in the Las Placitas neighborhood of Hermosillo to participate in the “Pintemos Sonora” (let’s paint Sonora) program.
Assisted by Secretary of Social Development Manuel Puebla and local neighborhood residents, the governor and her crew painted walls and the exteriors of homes in the neighborhood.
She also gave out blankets and solar space heaters to help residents offset the effects of cold weather.
Sonoran Sierra
The next day Governor Pavlovich traveled to pueblos in the Sonoran Sierra that have been deluged with heavy rains this winter.
Pavlovich first visited the towns of Bacanora, Arivechi and Sahuaripa, where she met with residents and distributed raincoats, galoshes and galvanized tin sheets for reinforcing roofs against the rains.
She also handed out bottles of water and blankets, provided sports equipment to schools and awarded grants for basic education tuition.
From there, it was on to Yécora where, in addition to providing the same items as before, she distributed water tanks provided by the Sonora Housing Commission and donated a refrigerator to the local health center.
