Sonora Takes a Step Toward EV Charging
Hermosillo Opens First Public Electric Truck Charging Station
Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño has inaugurated Hermosillo’s first fast-charging station for public electric transport. Known as an electrolinera, the station features five double chargers and can support up to 100 charges per day.
New Electric Bus Route
The launch also marks the beginning of a new electric route—Hospitales–Universidades—operated by the state’s Institute of Mobility. Three new electric buses will serve the route, signaling a key step toward Sonora’s energy transition.
Governor stresses importance of charging infrastructure expansion
Governor Durazo emphasized the importance of expanding charging infrastructure to encourage greater adoption of electric vehicles:
“For there to be more demand for electric vehicles, there must be more electrolineras in the state. I celebrate this great step and the addition of three electric buses in Hermosillo.”
