$260 Million Investment Strengthens Hermosillo’s Role as a Logistics Hub
A major new investment in Hermosillo is reinforcing Sonora’s position as a key economic and logistics center in northern Mexico, with implications that extend across the Arizona–Sonora region.
With an investment of more than 260 million pesos, the new distribution center from Mirage is expected to generate over 1,000 jobs while strengthening supply chains and regional infrastructure.
Investment and jobs strengthen Sonora’s economy
Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño emphasized that projects like this contribute to job creation, economic stability, and long-term growth. More than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs were generated during the construction and startup phases, supporting local workers and businesses.
Hermosillo emerges as a logistics and distribution hub
The new distribution center spans 28,000 square meters and includes a testing laboratory, showroom space, and service areas for distributors and technicians. The facility will significantly improve delivery efficiency across Mexico’s Pacific region to reduce delivery times from days to hours in high-demand markets.
This positions Hermosillo as a strategic logistics hub for both industrial and commercial sectors.
Strategic advantages attract investment to Sonora
State officials highlighted Sonora’s competitive advantages, including geographic proximity to the United States, established infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and an investment-friendly environment.
These factors continue to attract domestic and international companies to the region.
Mirage expands national and international footprint
With more than 36 years of experience, Mirage has grown from a Sonoran company into an international brand, supplying nearly half of the mini-split air conditioning units sold in Mexico.
The new facility will allow the company to scale operations and respond more quickly to market demand.
Sustainability built into the project
The distribution center also incorporates sustainability features, including more than 700 solar panels and an estimated reduction of 295 tons of CO₂ emissions, This reflects a growing trend of industrial growth aligned with environmental responsibility.
Arizona–Sonora insight
This investment highlights the continued integration of the Arizona–Sonora region as a shared economic corridor. Faster distribution, stronger supply chains, and expanded industrial capacity in Hermosillo can have direct impacts on cross-border trade, supplier networks, and regional economic growth.
What happens in Hermosillo increasingly matters on both sides of the border.
